I think so.The Serpent and the Wings of Night (Hardback) She truly wants her fans to be happy and writes because she loves it. Ok- I would like to add, though (after all my complaining), how sweet it was of the author to make this available to us for free. Now, I didn't let this stop me, of course, because I am obsessed with Broadbent's books, but I frfr just wanted a paperback on amazon. I had to give some random website my email (which I hate doing) and download the book from there. Whoops 😬.Īlso, the method to getting this book was a bit sketchy. I think if I cared more for Max's character I would be more intrigued but I'm finding that I just don't care for his back story all that much.

Now, I know more is coming, but I can already tell that I am going to be yawning. I know I shouldn't be expecting that from a prequel but I did and now I am disappointed. I did like learning more about Max and some of the other characters, but I wanted some spice, some interesting action (not just your average battle that idgaf about), and I didn't really get that. A battle breaks out, Max has to respond, there are some political discussions, and that's about it. I know it's a prequel and all, but I wanted more from this. This was pretty boring, I'm not going to lie.
